  • klr, old dog learns new trick.

while doing some mntce I discovered a factory issue which to at least some extent would affect the rear brake action. Check the return spring located behind the brake arm pivot point, if there is slack in the spring when the arm is returned to it's normal (up) position then you too have an issue. If there is slack as there was in mine the arm needs to be removed to allow the rotation of the splined shaft to create some preload in the return spring so when the pedal is reinstalled it will actually (for the first time) have some spring tension to assist the pedal returning to its normal (up) position. The brakes should be Brembo quality now!
Kidding, it is still a KLr.
