For Sale: Hepco & Becker cases and KTM LC8 rack syetem

Thanks Tom for the heads up. I didn’t know if the DSBC page owners were ok with “for sale” posts, so I erred on the side of caution. Will post later. Cheers, Daniel

West Harrison / Port Douglas solo

Let’s just say, WAY off the original script. I mean, bordering on the insane. 😅 It’s (currently) all black, a bit older, but barely used, and partly in your honour as well due to its incredible power and speed, I nicknamed it after a very fast-moving jet. 😎

West Harrison / Port Douglas solo

Hi. Thanks. It’s truly gorgeous up there. Not much extra on the bars functionally - just was running Euro light control switch on left, and right had a separate kill switch (trials style) and start button rather than the typical road oriented clustered control unit. Only true extra was the...

Squamish bound for Monday - Indian Arm and Norton Lake

Great pics Bruce. My follow up ride is cancelled until I get better. Am fighting a bad kidney infection. When I’m able, I’ll post a proposed ride thread in the proper location. Sorry for having hijacked yours. Great job in a great ride.

Squamish bound for Monday - Indian Arm and Norton Lake

No worries. I kind of wondered about whether you’d have enough turnaround time your weekend trip and a Mon departure. That now makes sense. Bruce, I am thrilled you’d do the whole thing with me. I assumed because of your location that doing the second day would be easier for you - but it’ll be...

Squamish bound for Monday - Indian Arm and Norton Lake

Righteous, Lee, I’m glad to hear you’d be interested. This would be a fun way to link an area typically favoured by Fraser Valley riders to one by favoured the Vancouver/North Shore crowd. I’m certainly working on getting better. I’ve only averaged less than a cup of food per day worth of...

Squamish bound for Monday - Indian Arm and Norton Lake

No, buddy, I wish it was only the foot. That’s a pain level I could work with, and now try thankfully, all healed up. I got one, then a couple says later, another kidney stone. Taking forever to move, and am on pain drugs strong enough to likely get the attention of a Sinoloa cartel chemist...

Husqvarna 701; the cats meow, or just a 690 is wolf's clothing?

Pity that it seems the 701 didn’t address a clearly problematic 690 issue. Do yourself a favour and replace the clutch slave with an Oberon aftermarket slave. I chased clutch issues fir over a month on my 690, changing out other parts in the line. Were it me doing it all over, I’d start with...

Squamish bound for Monday - Indian Arm and Norton Lake

Nice trip, Bruce!! The only upside to being stuck in a hospital bed is lots of time to plan and do map recces for future trips. Reports like yours help pass the time too. I have been meaning to get up to Indian Arm again - went once a few years ago and enjoyed it. I’m thinking it be a fun...

Cancelled DeeZee Navigation Off Road Dual Sport Ride September 12, 13 2020

No spare clutch cable on hydraulic clutch Husabergs...:) The last two shots should come up first, as they were taken before the bike restoration was completely finished. The unattached cable end you see is for the manual decomp lever, which I hadn’t installed yet.

    Nomad ADV

I think it’s a decent product, but most customers report inordinately long wait times (weeks, if not months). https://advrider.com/f/threads/nomad-adv-experience.1355603/page-11 If it was me, I’d order from Cyclops. They might actually have stock In hand...

Cancelled DeeZee Navigation Off Road Dual Sport Ride September 12, 13 2020

PS-if anyone needs an old-style 3.5” paper roadbook holder to which Rustic refers, I have one in decent shape. I may have an older one as well, but one for sure I can sell/donate. Not looking for cash as they’re under $50 new - a case or even a can of a Radler and it’s yours if you come by to...

Cancelled DeeZee Navigation Off Road Dual Sport Ride September 12, 13 2020

Bummer about the event. Maybe an event in Spring 2021. I’ve been keeping up roadbook practice. I’ll do road books for any new trail ride I go on. I’ll have the gps as backup but focus on my “roll chart” as the primary nav. Here’s my setup: I put rollchart in quotes because I use an old beater...
