2006 Vancouver Motorcycle Show

We have had a couple of meeting so far regarding the 2006 Vancouver Motorcycle Show. This year we will be combining our booth with the GVMC, Fraser Valley Dirt Riders (FVDR) and the Pacific NorthWest Motorcycle Association (PNWMA) booths. So rather than4 small booths we will have 1 large space with an awesome display.

We now need DSBC members to sign up and let us know when they can volunteer their time to assist at the booth to provide information aboutDSBC to the public.

The 2006 Show runs from Thursday Jan. 26 to Sunday Jan. 29. Hours of operation are:

Thursday Noon - 9:00pm

Friday10:00am - 9:00pm

Saturday 10:00am - 9:00pm

Sunday 10:00am - 5:00pm

A4 hour commitment is all that I ask but if you wish to volunteer more time that would be great. We will once again order T-Shirts for us to buy (not sure of the cost at this time)and we would like anyone who will be volunteering to wear their DSBC t-shirt and black jeansor slacksso welook like a team.

If you volunteerfor the show you will get a volunteer badge and freeadmittance into the Show for that day. I have to submit a list of volunteers by December 17 to get the free passes. So I need to know before then if you wish to volunteer.

Let me know what day(s) and time(s) you would like to volunteer and I'll put you on the schedule. If you want to volunteer but you're not sure of what day or time, that's ok, we can figure that out later.

If anyone has any questions pleasefeel free email me at [email protected]

JudyJudyJudy.

Please sign me up for one shift. I can do Thursday night or Saturday am or Sunday am.

That's assuming I'm not banned as a result of my antagonizing the Islanders earlier this week. Heh heh:shoot:.

Put me on the same shift as Skidmark and see if he will antagonizing me, face to face.... just kidding. I would be up for a shift on the Friday but would need time to get back to the island before morning. I guess an afternoon shift would work out perfectly.

Glad to read you've got a sense of humour like me. Quite a rarity these days, especially on the island it would seem.

Judy,

I have only been out for one ride with DSBC, so I am not sure if Iwould be a wealth of knowledge for the job. Do you need help on the set up day though?

Judy. I am sorry but forgot to introduce myself at the banquet in Surrey a few weeks back, but I was wanting to let you know that I would be interested to work the booth on Saturday or Sunday. At this point I would be open to work any of the different time slots.

This is right now all subject to my employment situation, as I am not working steady at this time, and hope to be by then. Besides it scares me to think that the only representation we can muster from the island is that mad man :wi:TG6.

Lee, buddy, pal :p;), just kiddin!!!!

Thanks for the quick responses already. You guys are fantastic :dude:. I've responded to everyone who's posted so far by way of an email or private message.

There are still lots of time slots available for volunteering at the show. It would also be nice to have a few people commit to helping tear the display down at the end of the show on Sunday evening.

Hi Judy:

I will be there for the Sunday afternoon shift and tear down for the geevees/DSBC. Geevees are going to get Tshirts; maybe DSBC should go for baseball caps? That way, some of us can work both sides of the booth. I'm not sure the "crusin' with the colours" crowd would approve, so lets work from the maxim
"better to ask forgiveness than seek approval", ok?

Ace job! I thank you in advance.

Tear down

Judy, Ted, Tom, Sharon, John James, Guy, Andy, Sheldon, Bill and anyone else that might be around.

Tom will be around for the show and manning the booth when he can. Same goes for Sharon. Bill also plans on being at the Tradex quite a bit.

We will have t-shirts again this year. Cost is $10. We would like those people that are volunteering to wear the t-shirts and blackpants. Thatway were are all readily identifiable asDSBC members.

Those people helping out can get their volunteer passes from the "will call" office atTradex (inside the main doors and then off to the left). Just give them your name and let them know you are with DSBC (they will require ID to verify name). The pass is good for the whole day that you are volunteering. Feel free to comeearly and enjoy the Show or stay after your shift and enjoyall of the exhibits. Please note, the "will call" office is usually quite a busy place so give yourself some time. The drive into Tradex and parking can also be a nightmare.

I'll bring the t-shirts to the Show and you can pick them up there. Or you can get one from me at Wendels on Friday night, at the GVMC clubhouse on Saturday or at the GVMC on tuesday night. If you are unable to volunteer for the Show but you would still like a t-shirt let me know.

This year our exhibit is being combined with GVMC, FVDR and PNWMA and it's a huge display. We will be located in one of the mobile buildings (portable structures). The mobile building are new this year. There will be two of them and they are accessible through the main Tradex buildings. You'll see what I mean when you get there. We are in booths 921-925.

I think I've covered everything. If I've forgotten anyone that has told me they want to volunteer, please email me at [email protected] Or if you have any other questions call me or email me.

Judy, can I get a T-shirt? I can't volunteer this year, but I will be at the show on Sunday (bus tour from Kamloops) and I can pick it up at the booth. Thanks.

Doug.
