We are getting lots of PM's offering help. Thanks

Waiting for the snow to melt...

If you have equipment bring it along.

(ie. GPS, mapping, machete, chainsaw, dynamite... ) :hr:

In case you missed it on the general Orca chat thread, here's the task list for those who want to get involved.

We will need help to ride and mark the trails and this year are hoping to be able to set three routes; A, B & C to better match the ambitions of all riders.

We'll be having pre event rides to do this and it should be some fun. Small groups will be meeting soon to figure out what where each of the routes might be and will post here to let you know what, where & when.

I have some concern around being able to get enough trails in the B category to make a full day and so if you know trails that you think might be a good fit and are reasonably close to the campsite, please pm me a phone number and we can talk about it.

Hey,

Great day today! Managed to get out with Steve and friends to cut some new trail. May be suitable for part of the A run. The old trials bike I bought seems to working out nicelyfor the scouting, clearing, and trail maintenance. Good fun too. Sorry no photos of today’s adventure, forgot the cam at home. Butt… I did manage to finally get a rear fender on the Beta. Maybe I won’t get so mud covered. (hope not!)

Cheers ! :hb:

Nice work Julius. Attaboy. So you're setting the A+ route eh?

I want to arrange a meeting for anyone who is interested to talk about setting the routes so we know where to ride when the snow goes. I'm thinking this week somewhere between Mill Bay and Duncan at around 7 pm but the day is to be decided. If you're interested in coming along please get in touch by posting here or PM me.

Great. How about Friday night at the Cobblestone Inn at Cobble Hill? I'm pretty flexible so if another time suits.....

Anyone else? Lee; what about you?

I'll be there.

Weather looks pretty good for Wednesday, anybody interested in doing a little pre meeting ride in the area, maybe a scouting pre-ride?

Checking the weather forecast and Sunday is looking good for a C route exploratory ride.

Sunshine and 10 degrees! :ss:I don't know about you, but this winter sucks... I'moverdue for a decent ride!

We will be checking snow levels and road conditions out past Jordan River, mainly the Jordan Ridge trail and Reservoir circle routes.

Meeting at10:00 am Sunday the 22nd at the Glen Lake Inn on Sooke Rd for coffee or breakfast, :br: on the road at 10:30.

Stop in Sooke for fuel at Chevron, coffee at the surfers shack in JR later. Possibly lunch in Port Renfrew depending on timing.

If the forecastturns to rain/snow...we'll postpone.

I have never been up that way yet, I would be intrested in doing a nice easy ride, count me in if it is still a go this Sunday.

I do have a hand held GPS I always bring with me as well, if it is needed?
