2010 ORCA trail clearing and pre rides

Saturday, April 17.

A day has been set aside by the campground allowing us to do a general site cleanup and decluttering making more room for sponsor displays, RV's, and riders camping on site.

We are looking for volunteers to give us a hand.
Bring your branch loppers, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, chainsaw... any tools and equipment you think might help. We might have a Bobcat loader on site.

A truckload of gravel to fill potholes would be awesome! :woohoo:

Bring lunch, 'refreshments', a lawn chair... good chance we'll have a bonfire going.

Same campground as before but pm for location if not known.

Thanks.

I'm planning to go for a ride around parts of the A and B routes on Saturday this week if anyone would like to tag along. Bring a small saw as I'm not sure how much clearing we may have to do. I'm hoping not much as the snow has been light this year.

10 am start at burnt bridge.

Hey Loz,

Are you still planning on Saturday? I just looked outside my place in Cobble Hill and there's about 4 inches of snow:shock: and it's still snowing :mad3:like crazy. Can imagine there's probably twice that much behind Shawnigan. I thought Spring was here.

Cheers

Yep, a good ride for sure. Good work on the big white pig Max!

I'll be doing more next weekend if anyone facies it. It will be out at Burnt Bridge to ride some of the Orca A & B routes there. Saturday or Sunday dependant on weather (looks awsome:ss:) and availability of other riders.

I could be up for that, what needs to be done, i.e. clearing, marking etc. and what stuff do we need to bring along?

For now I'm just riding the trails to check they are all clear. Snow was light this winter so may not need to do much clearing but bring a small hand saw in case. I'm thinking of going out to the campground and riding from there.

Licensed bikes not required for this ride. Let's shoot for 10.00 at the campground on Saturday.
