Hi all, anywhere near Cat Lake where I can pull off the road with a travel trailer around August 25-27?The BC recreation website shows that Cat Lake has 4 campsites that are accessible from the road - are these for the public, or staff only?Alice Lake is full, already checked there.I don't mind dry camping on a forestry service road, as long as I can get the trailer in and out. Thanks in advance for your help!

the cat lake sites are for public use. They are first come first served so don't be surprised if they are full. Portage campground is just south of squamish and is quite nice. There are always spots up the logging roads to park too. You can scope out some potential spots on Google earth.

You can also join all the climbers that park along Mamquam FSR. Between the highway and the Indian Arm turn off you are allowed to camp. Might be tight along the side of the road for a camper, but just before the IA turn off is a more open area where campers and vans often set up. Can also check Squamish valley campsite http://www.campsquamish.com/index.html probably about 5 km before the gravel road of Squamish FSR (there's an old fire truck at the entrance for reference). There is also Paradise Valley campsite http://paradisevalleycampground.net/ up Paradise Valley. Would try both of those as they are private and not as popular as Alice Lake or Porteau.
