As many of you know, we lost a member of our riding community on Canada Day this year. A few of us had the pleasure of knowing Jana Mahanthiran, and several of us were lucky enough to ride with him. Jana loved riding, and this was reiterated by both family & friends alike - he had a true passion for riding and was respected & regarded as a safe rider by his fellow riders.
We invite you to come finish the ride Jana started that day.

Meet up at Moka House-Cook St Village @6pm. Ride briefing at 6:20, departure at 6:30pm.
We will head north on Hwy 1 and stop near the accident site past Spencer Rd. to briefly say a few words. Please pull off at Savory Rd. (between the Shell station and the bridge on the NE side) and park on the gravel. If you cannot, then please go into the regional bus pullout alongside the highway. Park as close together as possible and as far off the highway as possible.
We'll continue up the Malahat to the Bamberton exit, up Mill Bay Rd and back down Hwy 1 to Serious Coffee in Mill Bay where we can hang out for a bit before heading back.
RSVPs are helpful, so we know roughly how many riders to expect.
Ride safe!

Also, to let you know, the accused drunk driver who hit and killed Jana has a court hearing on Thursday morning at 10:30 at the Westshore courthouse. Riders are welcome and encouraged to attend. The first hearing had a good rider presence, which was great, since Jana's family was there from Ontario. They were both surprised and very welcoming of the local rider support.
