Coffee will be at 9am and we will wrap up with a BBQ lunch

Everyone that has ever thought about changing their own tires is welcome to attend. We will be swapping information on how to change a tire on a dual-sport motorcycle. We will mainly be dealing with tube and spoke wheels.

Your instructors will be

Ted Blow and Tom Timmerman, between us we have fixed 100's if not 1000's of flats

Learn from our mistakes (we have made lots of them)

At the end of this demonstration you will be able to change a tire on your bike, without bleeding knuckles:dr:

[line]

Other topics we will cover

Tools required to do the job

Fatty of standard tubes

Tube repair

Tire types

Balancing

Spoke tension

Chain tension

Sprocket conditions

Bearings

Tools to bring off road

And just about anything else you want to talk about

[line]

At the end of the demonstration we will be having a BBQ Lunch and Western will open their parts department to us for anyone wishing to order new tires or tools.

Crap! Have another set of rims, two sets of tires to choose from. Pair of Mitas and Track Master's. Maybe, I will put a set on and off. Wish to still wear down old tires.

See you there :shoot:

Tom, I had read this post from you and I took it to mean that we could order them and pick them up for the Flat Tire Social. I guess I misunderstood. :(

1st - I'm in, as per my pm to Tom. Looking forward to it.

2nd - I'm sans car that weekend, so I'll be riding in to the event - and practicing on my own tire(s) right there.

Will there be stands available to jack bike(s) to allow me to take the rear tire off, do the practice tube replacement, replace tire on bike, etc.?

Dumb question, but just want to know if there will be the space to do that.

Again, looking forward to learning - and hanging with you guys.

cheers,

cm
