Hi from Sam in Smithers. Cool site! A buddy of bchunter just showed it to me. My wife and I run a small motorcycle shop in Smithers. Iam a journeyman motorcycle mechanic anda Harley specialist. You might see me at the drag races on my big bore stroker. I ama motorcycle enthusiast because I love to ride anything with two wheels. I love my Hondas. I currently ride a CR250 all studded up for the ice. In the past my weapons of choice have been twoxl600s, an xl350 and a 250 as well. I know those bikes inside out!I gave up on my KLR when I center puched a deer on it years ago. I have been riding dirt and streetand wrenchingfor about 40 years. Now I have good access to parts so I can fix my sh!t too! Sundays are my day to ride and we often plan trips from the store.

Wanna do the Telkwa pass in the winter?

Telkwa in the winter, eh? I think I'll just work on mastering it in the summer first :D.

Make sure that you connect with DrBike out of Houston too.

Any packed two lane rut will work with these studs on, the icier the better! Even a plowed road will work but it is better (and more legal)if it is "not maintained." As soon as it gets gravelled it becomes a stud killer. I was on the Telkwa pass road a couple winters ago. TOO MUCH FUN! The snowmobile trails work well once we are into spring thaw and freeze conditions. If you ridem in the morning when its frozen you don't wreck the trails for the next guy. Conditions are perfect for this when it is too whooped out and frozen for a sled to have fun!

I'm always up for a ride! :Stir

I am always open to tech questions. :gaah:If I can help I will!

These units take a fair amount of torque to run. I'm sure a 650 would work well. You would most likely want to gear it down significantly. I have another buddy with a XR650L that runs one. It is very tall. He needed to increase his jetting quite a bit as well. I order these units from Motovan. I can get them to fit almost any modern bike with juice brakes. (Mine is a dinosaur.)

Give me a call or a pm if you want more info on the Snow Cycle.

Yee haw! Lets go drag racing! My Sporty has been bored and stroked but it still won't catch a ZX. I can hardly wait for the new season. The Sporty is apart right now getting some top secret sh!t done too it. More faster and better go are being installed!
