I'm in

Looking for anyone from the lower mainland who's interested in riding up and camping. My riding skills are in the novice range but beer skills are in the 'Factory-Team' range.

Looking forward to this

Chris, myself and at times a few others trek to the Loops via as much backcountry as we can get - you're welcome to join our posse. Its a day trip, and we usually arrive in camp around dinner.

sub par riding ability, rugby player beer drinking ability, it's almost like you called me out specifically....

I'll be there, sleeping in my tent or as close as I get to it.

Hoping to join in the mayhem this year. I've just acquired a Husky FE 350, after 2 years with a Honda CRF250L. Waiting for the snow to clear so I can learn how to ride it!

My question is: what's the major difference between the A and B routes? I assume that the B route is a bit easier, particularly with this bike. (I am not a hard core rider with decades of experience.) And ... are these best done in groups, or are enough on the trails that it doesn't really matter?

If you are learning how to ride your FE350, you will want to pass on the 'A' route. It is difficult and long. The 'B' is just long, assuming you are a reasonably experienced rider. If you are new to off-road, you may even want to consider the C+

The B route is indeed long, and does still have some challenging sections. I know I'm (physically) done when I pop out under the power lines, and look down on the lake.
Unless you've a strong masochistic streak, I'd highly recommend you take on the B, prior to the A ;). While the route changes from year to year, I always find it a great combo of fun, fast, and flow ! If yer feeling particularly perky, you'll often encounter A sections on the B to further challenge yourself !

Mramsden, I agree with Dorky if you are just learning to ride your FE350 you may want to take the C+ route, last year was my first loose screw ride and we decided on that route and had a blast. I was on an XT225 and found it extremely fun the whole ride, we did all 3 sections as we were determined to get through it all and got back to camp about 6ish, it was a long day. Lots of single track and a mix of other stuff, deep mud holes and quad trails. I will say it had it challanges and would do it all over again. There were two of us and we hooked up with a couple other people before and on the trail. I would suggest if it is your first ride with L/S you take the C+ route, but in saying that we do get all 4 routes in the email and with a little research on the route you can decide which way to go. Hope this helps. Sadly we will be missing it this year. But out in full force next year.

Haven't done this ride in years I was on the very first ride and 3 other rides ,,thinking of bringing the new V storm 1000 making her dirty on C route and take some other guys from our v-strom group here in Vancouver ,any log jumping on this route? I did b route years back on drz400 and a great time up there.

Some rain today in Kamloops! That is a good thing. Unfortunately supposed to go to 35 again by mid-week. Everyone who is going to the Loose Screw go outside and do a little rain dance. More importantly, it looks like a few days of rain coming for the Cariboo Chilcoltin. Everybody go outside and do a BIG rain dance.

It rained halfway to Vancouver this morning and halfway back this afternoon. Everyone dance to make it continue for a few more weeks!
