That's great Mike.

No, you won't have to do the 11 hour epic... We have other plans for you this year!

To get on the list, I'll have entry forms & be accepting cheques at the Orca Run this weekend. or you could use the:

  • PayPal system on the www.GVMC.ca site, or alternatively
  • Mail a cheque & Entry Form to Doug Frederickson, 103-13423 78th Avenue, Surrey, BC, V3W 0A8
Be sure to let us know if you'll be taking a bed in a 'yurt', or if you & a buddy want an RV site.

Thanks!

Mark

Of course, if I knew how to read (roll charts, 'A' loop warnings, etc), I'd have gotten that.

You know me, my middle name is "Knee Jerk" (not always in that order).

The route it on the final touches

for those of you choising the hard option you are going to have to be able to cover 200k before filling up. I am working on a solution to get it to around 170K, count on 200

Here are a few pics from the Pre Ride

1Routledge-med.JPG

Hope Pass, dont think many of you have been here

1Routledge_2_-med.JPG

Old Hudson Bay Wagon Trail Intersection Elevation 6200 feet

Some quad trail, doesnt look like it but they get real muddy

1Routledge_6_-med.JPG

One of the Cabins at the Princeston Castle Resort........Rustic

1Routledge_7_-med.JPG

Loadstone Lake, Watch out for mosquitoes

1Routledge_8_-med.JPG

More of Loadstone, Perfect weather.

1Routledge_9_-med.JPG

Old Tram that was used many years ago at the Blakeburn mine. Yes this all is part of the route

1Routledge_10_-med.JPG

I beleive this is the edge of the Cascade Recreation Area, Sorry no motor bikes allowed

Texas Gate

If you look carefully you can see two more towers of the old tram, just to the right of the rider

Just above the Whipsaw FSR

The Adventure Route is complete and recommended for anyone who wants to have a great day of riding with some incredible sights of what the Southern Okanagan has to offer.

A great day for Riders of all levels of expertise.

These are some photos of the Adventure Route pre-rides that were done in the last few weeks:

"Keep movin', movin', movin',

Though they're disapprovin'

Keep them doggies movin', Rawhide! . . . . .

Move 'em on, head 'em up

Head 'em up, move 'em out,

Move 'em on, head 'em out Rawhide!

Set'em out, ride 'em in,

Ride 'em in, let 'em out,

Cut 'em out, ride'em in, RAWHIDE!!!."

Has someone got a map of the route? Curious if I could handle the hard route on my KLR. If it's just the Whipsaw and the hope pass it shouldn't be a problem...

I can take some gear and sleeping bags for those that would like to Princeton. PM me for my address to drop off stuff, or bring it to the GVMC club next Tues, for 7 oclock. Steve

How many kms on the adventure route between gas stops?

Big

Good question - sorry that I forgot to mention it,

There are 3 opportunities to fill up throughout the route ( each at about 70 km intervals)

No map. :(

You're an expert rider IMHO. With decent tires you shouldn't have much trouble with the hard route. After all, Tom can do it on a Beemer...
