Kenda K760 Trackmaster 2 vs Pirelli Scorp XCMH Rear Wet Conditions

Still looking for rears. No chance of Motoz Mountain Hybrid yet in Canada, so IF you've had experience with both of these REARS particularly in Van Isle like conditions (Not interested in Sand, desert conditions) on a sub 570cc dirt bike, then which one gave better traction off road? Will likely air them down to 12 psi. Don't want pinch flats or dented rims, so does one have stronger sidewalls than the other?

They're only going on for a season, if that, and will do 10km black top before the dirt (but I don't care about that performance too much - I'll ride like a granny in a monsoon on the black stuff).

Off road performance in the wet, which one gets your thumbs up...Kenda K760 trackmaster rear or Pirelli XCMH rear?

thanks. Paul

I'm your huckleberry as I have run both those tires :hf:

Hands down, the Kenda. I ran the Kenda for 2+ years on my TS 200 until I put the KTM engine in it. Once i did that, the Kenda could not take the spinnage power that was being put down with that engine and I was chewing through a tire every 500 km's. So I had to go with a different one. Now in saying that, the Kenda is still one of my favorite tires and I would not hesitate to put it on my DRZ. I ran mine at 18 psi and it was great for everything I put it through - mud, roots, hard dirt, loose rock hills, pavement. Realistically it is a 1800-2000 km tire, but I am a tire snob and do not run them till they are flat. I change out once I notice an increased performance loss.

Now the XCMH, the WORST tire I ever ran. I had it on my DRZ earlier this year and ran it at 20 psi. It would not hook up on ANYTHING. It would spin out all the time and even made me slip out in the Safeway parking lot. Now if a bone stock DRZ can kick out a tire.........

Plus the Kenda is cheaper. Do not hesitate to go with the Trackmaster. It gets my two thumbs up.

Good luck!!!

You should be able to get a Motoz Mountain Hybrid in a couple of weeks. Not sure who you local dealer is, but mine said that they would be here around the end of Feb, early March.

Good to know, Jim. I like the price - the K760 trackmaster is on for 57.99 at A vicious cycle rignt now and will likely be my stop gap until the Motoz's get here in reasonable numbers so I can get one! I have a Maxxis Desert IT right now. I'm sure it is fabulous in California, and it is great in August here when everything is hard packed and dry, but every other month it is the worst rear tire I have ever experienced off road in the wet. Wears great though! If I was so inclined, I could turn the thing around and get another 2000km out of it, but my neck is too valuable.

Nothing wrong with the Trackmaster, I've worn a few out and they stick quite well, even if they do seem to wear quickly, especially on-road. I'll likely buy another for the rear but am looking for something better than the D606 for the front,

Who cares if it wears moderately fast if it sticks real well and :clap:the fun component!

I loved my XCMH and was impressed by it's durability. But I never ran it over 12psi. 20psi is pretty high.
