Loose Screw Entries 2013

I've booked the time off for it, but work is short staffed. Hope it gets approved in time. When is the cut off? Are GPS tracks available for the B, B+ and A routes? I'd start with the B+ and see how it goes. KTM 530 with not 'orrible, but not mad skills either.

we axed the b+ route for this year,just cause we can! so you can pick A,B or C routes. A route will be best suited to riders on plated dirtbikes,ie;,ktm 450,500,525,530,husaberg 501,570,bmw 450x, and drz 400' styles will be fine if your up to it.. be a confident rider that can get through anything,and this will be a fun ride. honda 650l's and ktm 690's may want to reconsider, or pack a big lunch. not sayin' you wont be able to do the A loop, you just may have more fun on the B course. A route will be roll-chart and ribbons only. bring your skid plate, barkbusters,and camelback. I'm sure the builders of the B and C routes will be chiming in to give you a run down on their offerings for the 2013 loose screw!

The cheque is in the mail as of noon today! And the A route sounds like a challenge! Excellent. You gotta count on a few "Loose Screw" sections at the Loose Screw ride. I will have the GoPro rolling for most of it.

I sent my entry off first thing this morning. I may also drag out another Albertan last-minuter with me as well, then it's the A fo sho!

Cheque's in the mail. Anyone who rides the A course do people air down their tires and use bead lockers? I just bought a new rim with dual sport rubber on it. Do I need the bead locker?

most dirt worthy bikes use rim locks/bead locks. They keep the tire from spinning on the rim and tearing the valve stem off the tube. there are lots of dot approved knobbies out there now to pick from as well. i run the 80/20 dirt/pavement style myself on my 525 exc.( mx1- has a great line up of mitas dot approved knobbies, Colin is a sponsor here,nudge nudge) i find 14-15psi in both ends works well on the pavement/gravel roads and in da swamp!
