Loose Screw - Working on a new B route

Dorky

We've been working on the B2 route for this year's Loose Screw. Last year's B will be available and we will add this new route for those B riders looking for a little extra challenge. So far the motto seems to be "Bring friends". A few pics...

On this day Bora decided to WOT himself into the trees. This isn't the first time...

Unfortunately he breakey his shifter shaft. Luckily it broke outside the case and the bike was in 3rd (we had about 50km to get home).

And it won't be the last!

...I am here for your entertainment...

Bike will be fixed in 1.5 weeks, new shift lever ordered that will break first....hopefully....it appears to be "factory scored" to assist with breakage too

Haah! Just saw this post; you're funny. A little leprechaun on my handlebars...

Kinda like a trunk monkey for the bike :))):.

More B2 exploration

More B2 exploration

Work on B2 continues. I think you are going to enjoy this route.

This is his trail - no humans shall pass...

Do we try to brush this back or just let you guys do it when you get there?

Mmmm. Pretty.

No trucks !!

Finally, snow almost gone.

More B2 today

More B2 today

Dorky and I did 125km of B2 - Part II today. It took us 7 hours to do 190km total. It is going to be fun :D:D:D

Dorky's camera gave up part way through, so over to mine for pix today.

3 ways across this one, we chose the 2 easy ways, except we will be going the other direction on the route so Dorky's way will the best if you are riding a big bike.

It is still VERY wet out there!

Much more fun in the winter.

We will be riding down the access roads, not the ski runs :(

We had lunch in Sun Peaks at Mountain High Pizza and found this little beauty.

Strangest cut-block I have ever seen. You could land a plane here in the winter.

Little downhill to Pritchard that looked much steeper and scarier from the bottom.

Not sure which way to go!

B2 Route is done.

B2 Route is done.

B2 is offically complete :clap::clap::clap:

I think you're going to like it. Scenic, challenging and fun.

The core of the route is 178km from the gas station to the gas station.

Everyone keeps asking me if they can ride it on their xyz bike. I have no idea. If you can ride tight single track and jump logs and roll over rock fields you won't have a problem. If your smaller bike is licensed, bring that one. If this is your first event and you ride a scratch-free 650 GS, I recommend you ride the other B1 route.

LOL, unless you think you can keep your bike scratch-free by always falling under it, you can ride the B2:tup:

I actually hit reserve at 140km last weekend...It was 80% riding at speeds of 90-100km/h so I gotta think I will get better mileage at slower speeds. I gotta figure out a way to pack a little more gas. I guess there won't be many klr's on the b2 route to beg off of. Really looking forward to seeing it.
