Pic 6
Other mine site

Pic 7
Red Rose Gate Keepers Cabin....well that is what I'm calling it....make it to here and go up and left in the trail to start the climb

Pic 8
Pic 3 vantage point

Pic 9
Other mine site

Pic 10
Red Rose site

Pic 11
Other mine site looking up at the mine shafts

Pic 12
Destination ....buildings at the top of Red Rose

Pic 13
Pic 3 vantage point.

Next trip in for me will be destination buildings on the top in Pic 12. And will only take the trials bike to get there. ....not interested in huffing at elevation on bigger bikes.

The other mine site is a easy ride in to it ....easy for me so adjust accordingly there is some narly bits all the way in to the Y including creek crossings. Not a ride for the timid.
But if you can get in there to Red Rose ......Oh it is so worth it. Even if you have to hike the last bit up the mountain to the buildings.......plan for a full day to do it all.

Welcome to the neighbourhood Grumpy! You missed a great weekend, however lots of time left to explore the area. I'd be happy to go out and show you some of the faves, all more or less mild in the ability department. Shoot me a PM if interested.

There was many reasons for thumbs up:

1. Gotta love a spur of the moment ride
2. Gotta love a beautiful sunny day
3. Gotta love a FSR that no one drives on
4. Gotta love it when 2T can get away in the corners but you can crack out the thumper and catch up on the straights
5. Gotta love it when your stock POS carb turns into a wonderful FCR MX 39 pumper :woohoo:

Gotta love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And welcome to the area Grumpy. You will like it here.

Gotta love the north
your just lucky my carb still not working right giving you a chance to catch me:p:D

Coming back from Terrace this eve with the Bird and half hour out of Terrace see a RV with both left side duals blown:eek:...so stopped and helped them get the spare out from its hiding spot ...jack the RV up....luckily they had 3 bottle jacks(they was 2 older couples traveling together...one in the RV other in a fifth wheel) pull the duals, put on the spare so the could limp back to a rest area a few km back and deal with the situation in the morning.
Even Sam (eye candy) happened along and stopped

my good deed for the day
All I can say is pay it forward folks:)

I have no pride, I will take what ever advantage I can get :dr:

Good on you for helping out the folk. That is what the north is about, helping out where needed cause sure as poop you will need it back at some time.

Almost off topic... I met "Smokin Sam" at the Terrace Drag Races on Saturday ...watched him make a couple of runs.
Almost on topic ...he had a carb in bits off the Harley and was tinkering with a big new shiny one... I didn't see the outcome of that??????
BTW ...good to meet up with you Sam ...maybe you could tune up a few of our Dual Sport bikes ready for the next races?

..or a Dr. on Harley Street?
Managed a quick slip & slide up Wedeene FSR on Monday. It was relatively muddy and slimy and there's some heavy equipment that's been chewing up the road along there ...so a little more "interesting" than the usual quick blast.

That sounds like my ride home yesterday. I took the High Road and with all the rain it was nice and muddy, but there were 3 tracks where the vehicles had travelled, each track being two tires wide. I blasted along in the far right one and it was like riding on pavement, man did it hook up. Then roll into some mud for some sliding, then back on the dirtment, crack the FCR, listen to the accelerator pump chirp, peek a view into the fields for bear and deer, and think "Thank God I am alive"...... and on a DR :))): :dr:
