Newbie Ride ROLL CHART

The attachment is the .pdf file roll chart of the route for the Newbie Ride. You will need this chart for the Newbie Ride as the course is NOT flagged. Print roll chart on LEGAL SIZE PAPER.

If you have never used a roll chart before here's a great opportunity to learn how:

  • Download and print this .pdf file.
  • Cut along vertical lines
  • Tape each section together so you have one long strip
  • Insert into Roll Chart holder

MTR Sports has roll chart holders and they will be bringing them to the Newbie Ride. If you want to make sure that there will be one for you call Robert at 604-828-4733 or email at [email protected]

Roll charts are used for a number of dualsport events (Dead Zone, Routledge Run, Dirty Face, Sheetiron, etc). Since the Newbie Ride is a short event it's a great way to learn how to navigate a ride.

If you have never used a roll chart before PM or email me and I'll be happy to explain how it works.

-Judy-

The .pdf has now been deleted. See post at the end of this thread for an explaination. -Judy-

Got the roll chart, thanks JetDog.
Is there likely to be any snow, or lots of mud ?

We did a pre ride this past weekend and we did not encounter any snow or mud on the main route.

HOWEVER . . . . if you attempt some of the hard A/B options you WILL hit mud.

I am in. Sounds like a great time.

Picking up my new bike today from Bill at 5TH GEAR. Should be a great break-in ride.

Hey Java Jude, also been lurking for a while and decided to take the plunge, got about 2-3 days to put the winter maintenance disassemble back together, hopefully it will happen in time. I will do all I can, I will need a road book, and will do as you suggested in contacting MTR. Any idea as to how the terrain is, you mentioned you took a dry run. I am asking because my tires are pretty much done and am waiting for my new ones to arrive from Western Powersports super tire deal, but that will not happen in time for sunday. Got Griptsters on right now, so dry gravel roads should be fine, but nothing that requires any serious traction unfortunately.

Any info would be great, and hopefully it all comes together in time for Sunday.

I'm interested in going on my first ride!! I tried to download the "roll map" but it said I didn't have permission. Do I really need that or is there a possibility that there maybe some there. :D

Thanks Tia

Okay, I've been wanting to check you folks out for a while now, but I'm not getting a dual-sport for a couple of months yet.

So what do you think, should I have some fun and ride my street bike on the "EZ" route? I don't mind dirt roads, but a ton of pot holes ain't much fun.

Or do you think it wiser that I just come out to the staging area and steal some food when you get back from your ride?

Oh, can I get permission to download the roll chart? Don't know if I'll ride, but I'd like to print it out anyhow.

thanks,
trond
