Norrish Creek Forest Service Road

Would anyone know anything about the Norrish Creek Forest Service Road? Is it gated off? I seem to recall reading that it has a gate because it's a watershed area. I've never been there but it looks interesting in Google Maps. Any info appreciated.

I haven't been up there for a year or so but the last time I was the gate was open from morning 'til after supper. Sorry, I can't remember the exact times. It is an interesting place to ride with lots of variation. If you don't mind a lot of deep cross ditches you might try going over Margaret Creek Pass and winding up on the West Harrison FSR. It's a great ride but not for big bikes or novices.John

I was surprised to see the big gate and threatening signs last time I was up there, but it was wide open and there were many 4x's and bikes on the roads past it, so at the time it definitely wasn't an issue. Some fun lookouts, great exploring. I thought everything up there dead-ended, tho. Farp, do you have a track or vague directions on how to find your way through to W Harrison?

Kenf - If you pm me your private email I will send you GPX files for Margaret Creek and other trails in this area. These tracks are several years old so I can't guarantee that they haven't been washed out or otherwise rendered impassible. I'm pretty sure that Margaret Creek will still be ride-able, however it might be blocked by a gate at the West Harrison side.
