First Ride (mud, water, snow etc) ever off pavement, on a KLR and first ride with the group. Fantastic job of organizing and what a great group of people. A very big thanks to the organizers and to all the KLR riders that made sure I didn't get lost. Really looking forward to more of the same.

What a day!! What a bunch of neat riders! Thanks 5th Gear for donuts and coffee and thank Pacific BMW/Yamaha for lunch. And a special thanks again to Judy and her gang of helpers.

Great to meet you Bogdan, Brandon, Joe, Daniel, etc. Good to see my old friends John, Mike, Gerry, Pete, Tom, Jun, etc. That's all the names my 65 yr. old brain can remember.

Cheers, Ed :dr:

Many thanks to Tom for the bus ride in, Judy, et al for making me feel welcome. First day of offroad riding for me, and I can't deny I was a bit apprehensive.

Big thanks to the sponsors - donuts, food, and drinks were most appreciated.

Most of all, thanks to all the individual members, without whose encouragement and comraderie, the ride would have been an experience infinitely less enjoyable.

OK ... some pics .... :hf:

THE bus. For those who know, no explanation is necessary. For those who don't, no explanation will suffice. What a great piece of kit ....

The dork shot - Yes, baby, this is your dashing father, playing in the dirt, looking like a dork ...

"Yup - sure is flat ...."

This shot was to show the ratio of bystanders to fixers ... :D

Wooooo a great day of riding! Good to see all the people coming out for the first time. Thanks to the sponsors (I'm sure _everyone_ appreciated the hot coffee in the morning!) and to the kitchen crew (hope the hand gets better soon Mike!), the burgers were great stuff. :hb:

It was cold during the morning, but the ride home was pretty warm, the temp on a sign in Langley said 16c!

WE had seasoned riders (Tom, Bill and the guys from 5th Gear, John, Neil, Doug, etc etc) and some real newbie riders (Bill, Sue, Robyn, etc). There was a great mix of riders on all types of bikes.
I heard that we had one riders come from as far as Sescheltand we had another who only lived 15 minutes away in Chilliwack. A lot of riders rode infrom across the Fraser (Vanc. Bby,Poco) and the rest of us trucked our bikes there.

These events just keep getting bigger and better every year. I enjoyed meeting a number of new DSBC members today. And I really enjoyedcatching up with old friends.

A Big Thanks to Everyone who made this Newbie ride such a sucess!
Tom, Judy, Mike, Robert, and everyone else who helped to make this happen.
Special thanks to the Camp Cooks who staid back and made sure we all got a hot lunch after the ride.
Nice to see our local sponsors help out in our riding community. Kudos!

I will have to add that the trip from 232nd was such a fun ride. Over 20 bikes infront of me streching the distance was such a great sight. To me this was one of the great things about Dual Sport riding. (No need to cart your bike to hit some dirt!)
Wish I had a picture of all those bikes streched out over a click down the country roads.

Glad to have met a whole bunch of new friends and see some fimillar faces again.

What a great way to start the riding season!

Cheers!

Bren

PS - Hope to see you at the Orca Run!
