Been MIA for a lot of the summer because of a blown engine in the DR and work but it's fixed and I'm ready for battle again. Planning on hitting it up early afternoon and bomb back the same way after a fuel and maybe a lunch in Terrace.

I would love to join you but this weekend is out for me.

More importantly, you should buy a lotto ticket as you are the one in a million guy that had a DR blow up :Stir

Have fun and keep an eye here as we might be making a Microwave/Mooseskin Johnny or a 9 Mile trip at some point in Sept or Oct.

haha.....I was really surprised but all in all it's been a really good bike and didn't really owe me anything. Just a bit of downtime in the peak of riding season was the only downer.

How do you access that Mooseskin Johnny area? A friend wants me to accompany him on a goat hunt in there this year in the north end of Starr Basin but the only way that we can figure on getting across the river and into the area is that bridge with the big nasty gate. We were going to use pedal bikes to the tree line if we had to but it looks like a long day if we need to go that route.

That is the only way in the seasons where there is no snow and ice, through the gate. That is why the odds are so low for goat in there :D

Depending on where his draw is, there might be some access from the Terrace side up some of the logging roads, then a hike through the trees to tree line. I had a draw in there for the Telkwa side. It was not an easy hunt by any means, not that goat hunts are anyways.

Did you make the pass yesterday? It was kinda a gross day.

I wasn't feeling up to a solo trip this time just in case something went wrong. The other fella that was going didn't like the looks of the weather.

I figured as much for Starr. His I can't remember the zone letter but he picked an area that would only be practical to get into from the Telkwa side. I think Elliot Creek makes the western boundary (Howson Creek might make the eastern boundary) and Eagle Peak is part of the area. The funny thing is we've been out there trying to come up with a plan and never have trouble finding them with a spotting scope from the pipeline but getting there is a totally different story. I'm just going for the sight seeing and exercise so I won't try too hard to talk him into a 15km bicycle ride to treeline.
