TRAIL CLEARING - Bridal Falls FSR

To people in Fraser Valley Area(Rosedale, Chilliwack)

I'm looking for some people to help me clear some old FSRs on the Bridal Falls FSR for some good enduro riding. I've hiked on these old FSRs roads but they just need some TLC for a bike to actually ride it.

The spring is the perfect time for clearing the trail after the snows melts.

Please let me know if anyone is interested. This trail goes to a beautiful valley

I hate to be the bearer of bad news

Recreation Sites and Trails BC RSTBC has recently told all clubs motorised and non motorised that they need a Section 57 (permit) to clear any FSRs or Trails. They also told us that all trail work must cease immediately. That include any branch cutting or hand grubbing.

I would contact the local recreation technician [email protected] 604-702-5762 and discuss the process.

I can say that I saw the proposed process and it is more than a little onerous on trail volunteers. as an example RSTBC hosted a full day seminar for clubs that already have section 56s and 57s in the que. The powerpoint presentation is about 125 slides and RSTBC supplied 3 pages of links for volunteers to read, well over 1000 pages??? WTF

Good luck and please let us know how you make out

Tom

Did not mean to scare you off, I hope you will get out there and get the trail cleared

We went up last year and cleared the Bridal Falls FSR trail and it was pretty sweet

Here is a link to that day

And a gratuitous picture of a job well done

The trail bed looks in good shape, so all that is needed is a little brush cutting. I saw on FB that some guys were trying to get something organised but have not seen any talk recently over the last week. Would be a shame to loose this trail because of lack of a little maintenance
