TW200 Bar Buzz

I was at Mount Cheam last week and the mighty TW actually reached 100 kph on the transit from Tamihi staging area, and the only negative was handle bar buzz. I am looking for some ideas to tame this.

And no I am not buying a GSA to remedy this (although it would be nice)

I don't suppose you were able to drive all the way to the T/H...there is one section of the road that doesn't see any sunshine until June...

In Service Vortex Fleet

In Service Vortex Fleet

You are kidding, right?
Try spray foam?

When a machine goes "in service" in my bike fleet it gets run and used to red line as designed TW included and if you ever ride with me you will better understand this

I'd love too, not today, maybe not any time soon, but love too
btw.. I was serious about the spray foam in bars. I believe I remember farp talking about some fancy anti vibe dokickies once?!

I am starting to think I should post pictures and UTM co ordinates for viewers and this is easy as I am out in a remote location riding every weekend. As soon as a bit more snow melts prospecting season is officially open and I should have reports on all the popular routes.

But really who would be interested pictures of some wanker dodging grizzlies, logging trucks and cagers on a TW200? Maybe I should call the discovery channel and get into reality tv.

This is mountain operations and in the background Foley Lake. Cheam is the the left out of sight

Looks Fun
Bar Buzz
Try getting rid of the solid bark busters and use plastic deflectors
Makes the bar far less rigid, use to get bad arm pump from the mx bike till i got rid of them!
But really, don't you expect buzz from a red lining 200 single with fat knobs on asphalt?

Misses Vortex seems to like some vibration just not through the bars. I tore off some plastic guards last summer in a place called Palliser River. We do a great deal of bush whaking and trail breaking with this bike and many times I have had to drag or spin it on the ground during hill recovery.

Thus the need for solid bark busters.

I miss my TW.....

TW_rider, your old TW is doing fine and I am enjoying it.
Vortexman, I have very little bar buzz on my TW, but I also do not run the stock deathwing.
I am using a steel high rise ATV bar on the risers that came with the bike (ask TW_rider about them) and run a Pireli MT43 on the front and a Duro ATV tire on the rear. Gearing is 14 - 55 and at 60 mph there is vibration, but not major bar buzz.

I usually keep the bike below 90 kmph as it is screaming and I have it setup for trail exploring.

I use the bike for the same application but find I am having more fun that I care to admit on the thing. The MT43? please confirm this is a rear trials tire application? There are some times for short transits I run the bike at high rpms and do realize it has limitations.

One thing that spoils me is that where ever I am, in what ever remote areas I happen to be working in, I never have anxiety when I push that little red start button, and if you have ever had the 30 k stroll out of the bush you know what I mean.

The bike also serves as life raft as I use an old Jeep Cherokee for my bush runabout. When Misses Vortex finds out there are "others" she will have a melt down.

Check out the TW200 forum and you will find many who have the same obsession and lots of great info on the bike.
I am running the MT 43 trials tire I use to have on the back of my WR250r on the front of the TW.
I find it works great on the rutted rooted trails here on the coast. Some guys are running D606s and more aggressive rear tires up front.
The TW may not be fast, but it will take you almost anywhere.

49605 on the odometer, but the cable broke and I rode about another 170 before I could replace it.
Getting close to the 50000 mark.
