We are in the SHOW!!!

I understand we need a 2nd TV for the show. I'm able to provide a large screen computer for the show, which can play both DVDs, as well as photo slide shows, videos, etc... I think this would prove more useful than a TV, and more versatile. For example, we could have a folder full of video that members submit - that can be played with a simple double click, and have a screen saver of (member submitted) pics playing when the computer is not playing video, DVDs, etc...

If this isnt the appropriate forum, please let me know whom to contact.

Thinking about attending, and might volunteer unless I seem like to much of a poser...negligible offroad skills and I only used my DRZ400 for commuting during this wacky year. Still only have 17" wheels with Distanzias. Did replace my crunched Speed Triple and have a great ride through BC & Alberta parks this year, albeit on tarmac only.

Ran into Tina who I met at the DSBC booth a couple years ago, this weekend at the Seattle show. It was a downer, no KTM, BMW or Triumph and I'm desperate to see the Tiger 800 and the Speed triple updates...

(Just heard that the Tiger800 WILL be there.)

Hi all,

Last minute thought - I've added Google Earth to the show computer with the idea that it would be cool to have some favorite routes to show off, location, how close they are, diversity, varying difficulties, etc... So if you've got some decent .kmz files to share, please post em here, or PM me !

Thanks.

Go to:

www.bike.stu.ph

You will find a large number of GPS files posted by members of DSBC.

When the page opens you will see a map with a large number of pushpins on it. By clicking on the pushpin the route will be displayed on the map and you can decide if you want to down load it.

Alternatively, when the page opens click on the "Discuss Rides In Forum" button at the top of the page. When that window opens click on "GPS rides" about half way down. A page will open showing a list of all the rides posted complete with a description of where they are. Select the ride you are interested in and it will open on the map. At the bottom you will be given a list of options for which format you want to download, one of the options is Google Earth format.

You could also download the file in GPX format. GPX files can be opened with Google Earth. When you open a GPX file in Google Earth a small menu will appear in the first window. Be sure all three options (KML Tracks; KML Line Strings; and Adjust Alt to Ground Height) are checked and the track will be displayed on the map.

Hope this helps.

Had a great time at the DSBC booth at the MC show !
Met some new faces, and some familiar ones, got a fresh BCORMA pass, some skookum DSBC goodies (caps look great, and are awesome quality), did the obligatory drool over various bits of kit, and spread the word to the masses re the joy's of dual sporting.

Wanted to send a big thank you to Tom, Judy, and all the DSBC volunteers that helped out at the booth !

Thanks To All

Thanks To All

A big Thanks:clap: and Two :tup: for everyones help and involvement in the Motorcycle Show. Although I was wearing my BCORMA hat this weekend I also had my DSBC Yellows on as well. It worked out well that DSBC was right beside the BCORMA booth. The bike show was a great success from my view.

The booth pairing was perfect with lots of people milling around, it all looked great with lots of information to be had, I liked the idea of using the Zero in the DSBC booth, several messages in one.
Thx. to those who put in the hours for the sport.

We had another great MC Show for 2011

Thanks to all the volunteers who took the time to come and work the DSBC booth and talk up our sport, hand out cards and sell Trail Passes.

A huge thanks to Alex (Phoenix) who showed up EVERY morning to get things started and put in hours of volunteer time. Alex, you are fantastic!!! And Finn who took on the responsibility of getting the ball rolling so we had a display for this year's show. Thanks to John (farp) for filling in the holes in the schedule when someone was required in the booth. And Tom, who spent the entire weekend at the show working the BCORMA booth and the DSBC booth. Tom's the one who got the Zero bike for our display . . . . it sure was an eye catcher. Many thanks to Graham (may_hem) for welding up the bike stand (at the last minute) and getting us the movie rocks (very cool).

Next event: Flat Tire Social at Western Powersports in Langley. Watch the forum for more details.
