three more days! I get out of this damn cast in three more days!

thats pretty exciting, however the bike wont be ready, the cylinder is at Mongoose getting bored to 101mm .

The piston was breaking down in the skirt area and the cylinder wall was scratched and gouged, the top ring was seized in the groove, and the piston pin just might have been seized in the piston for a while too.

Theres still no explanation as to why. The tech says it looks like detonation and overheating. I have trouble believing I ride hard enough to overheat it, and I run premium gas which is plenty for the wimpy compression ratio of this bike. So time will tell after I get it reassembled. I may take it to Honda for a check up to be sure it is oiling properly

Im looking forward to riding this summer though, no more of this fall and spring slippery stuff riding for me for a while, its not the pain that hurts so much but the lost income from only working one handed

So who's seen a wrist brace that you can ride with? I talked to a customer that says he has one made for riding with, the wrists brace I have limits movement too much to turn a throttle

Take Care.

Out of the cast, and the bike is back together.

Need a new oil filter and screen before I can fire it though.

Probably a month or two yet before its safe to ride though, limited mobility in the right hand and wrist from being immobilized for so long in a cast, and the left wrist, well it just hurts most of the time, it took an injury as well but the doctors don't seem concerned about it.

Hey Dan-

Glad to hear that you and the bike are almost back!

Braces are always a balance between mobility and support.

I find a soft support like the ones made by Mueller work well for me for riding.

You can usually find things like this at a good drugstore.

If you and your Doc think you need more support, DonJoy makes great sports braces.

Vancouver Orthopedic is a great place for true braces. They know their stuff.

See you out there,

thanks all.

I'm about 80% mobility in the hand right now and about 70% in the wrist. Strength about 60 t0 70%

I think I will be all right in the end. My wrist feels better now than it did before this second injury.

I'll probably put the bike back on the road two or three weeks from now and go find some nice soft dirt to ride on :)

In the meantime I bought a car thats easy to drive, and it doesn't hurt that its fast :D

Unfortunately the imports have been killing me.

I'm out of practice driving a car, and way out of practice shifting a car transmission, I've been driving with a V8 and a truck transmission for so long I can't get used to how fast this thing hits the rev limiter, I bounce off the rev limiter every time on the first-second shift which loses me the time it takes the engine to recover

I only picked it up on Monday though, I'm sure I'll be smoking the Honda's soon

Its a 2005 lease return, so its only the little 205 Horsepower Supercharged engine, not the 260 Horsepower Turbo engine that I wanted, but for the ten grand difference between the 05 and 09, I'll deal with it :D

Faster than my bike, now thats just silly...
