Took "Tank" (my Honda dirtbike) for a run today. I went up the Red Lake Road a ways. It was a nice little run, and would have been better of course if I had, had someone to ride with me. In any event, I just took my time and enjoyed the ride. Saw two Smokies though and both in Tijuana Taxis. The first when I was headed out and he was headed into town on a call, given the fact that lights and siren was going. The second was coming back home and one was headed the way I had already been.
Aside from that, i stopped every now and again. The first time was to get pics of bighon sheep, just after starting up the road to Red Lake. I stopped again to get some pics of Tranquille Canyon, thogh there really wasnt much to see from the road. I continued on my way to a point a couple of KM past the second bridge over the Tranquille River and turned around. Coming back, I stopped just before the bridge and got a pic of the now much wider road. Originally, the road was about 1 1/2 lanes wide and had no guardrail. Area residents complained for years that this needed to be fixed, as it was only a matter of time before someone was killed. Sadly, that happened a few years ago and I was called out to the scene. Even after that, it wasn't till last year, that the road was widened. It is now a full 2 lanes with concrete barrier. Just after that I stopped at the Forestry site beside the bridge. I though the whole bridge was timber, but in fact It's a timber deck on Bailey Bridge panels. After that, i stopped and took som pics from a pullout on the road of the surrounding area. From there, I headed down to Kamloops lake. The City has once again closed off access to the lake. I could have squeezed past the concrete blocks, but there's no point right now. The lake is coming up for the summer.
All in all, it was a nice ride. Too bad there was no one to tag along with me, as it's more fun to have a friend or two to tag along. Maybe next time, as i would like to go all the way to Red Lake and maybe past there to the Deadman Hoodoos. That's a ride for another day though. Linky below to the pics I took. The uploaded to my Photobucket account in reverse order for some reason.

If anyone is interested, I'm open to going up that way again tomorrow.
