So I bought a new Onguard disk lock at end of season so I could have a little extra security on my bike while it was stored in my living room 
The other day the sun was shining, the birds were singing, so I moved my bike to the back porch to get ready for riding season :ss:
After putting the disk lock back on I was contemplating what to do with the extra keys. This damn thing came with like five keys, plus a serial number tag so you can easily order extra keys. :?
I asked the salesgirl why it came with so many. She explained that these locks are impossible to break into, they've had several locksmiths try, and if you lose your keys you're screwed and you end up having to buy a new brake rotor because the lock is not coming off :shock:
Wow, that is impressive I was thinking :tup:
So there I am on a bright sunny day with a handfull of keys to my disk brake lock contemplating how tough this little lock could possibly be.
Tossed the keys on the kitchen table I headed to the shop to determine which tool of mass destruction would be required to defeat this impossible lock.
After picking out a nice variety I decide it would only be fair to use a tool that could easily be carried and concealed by a bike theif.
So back at the bike, with my favorite concealable in a tank bag tool of mass destruction I start the stopwatch function of my GPS to time how long it takes me to unlock my bike.
NINE SECONDS
Uh huh, nine seconds later my fourty dollar disk brake lock is defeated and lying on the porch with no damage to the disk brake rotor:shock:
I'm not sure what I was thinking throwing away fourty bucks through destructive testing, but now I know :tup:
So, anyone know where I can get a good deal on a new disk lock?
