Hello. My name is Rob. I am 59 years old, consider myself retired but there always seems to be more work than play time. I have been living in Hope since 2016 but have lived in the Fraser Valley for more than half a century. ? I grew up around Cultus Lake which is where I began my love for motorcycles. That was the 70's and Vedder mountain was my playground, though it was not what it is today. Most trails then we had to make ourselves and never once did we cross paths with other riders. How things change I stopped riding off-road bikes many years ago until I bought my current 2018 WR250R, living in Hope has given me the opportunity to explore this sport and my abilities. I also ride a 2003 Yamaha FZ1, which I have owned since new which now has over 130,000km, most of which are done in BC, but some in Washington and Alberta.
My other hobby is shooting sports, most specifically, pistol. I am a member of the Hope Gun Club. This past March I took a course to begin attending IPSC competitions.
My reason for joining is to meet people with similar interests with mine. I mostly ride alone on the mountain trails and that is a concern for me so I am hoping to find members that I can connect with to explore the back country and expand my trail network. Also, to learn the more intricate details of what is best to prepare for longer trips, ie over-nighters. I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life. Cheers.
