Hi 04KLR

didn't you just get back from the home of warm beer? Did you bring it with you?

Welcome to the green side. I ride a blue one, and its basically stock.

I found riding mine at Inks that it was quite rich, translating into a bog or hesitation. Naturly (being used to 2smokes) I thought it was lean, but that didn't make sense since it ran fine at the coast. Thats the nature of the CV carb. If you have the KLX off road, you wont have that problem.

My S-model got a jet kit, 3x3" opening on the top of the air box, bar risers, renthals, IMS pegs, a UFO taillight, Kytech rack, IMS 15l tank, bash plate and handguards, and lots of different tires.

Have fun with it, hope to see you on the trails!

The KLX doesn't need any mods for it to be faster than a DRZ:dr::dr:

much as I enjoy slagging the other guys bike, brand A vs. B, or brand K is better than Y, in the case of the drz and klx it's a moot point as the two are essentially the same bike, thisis a case of choose a color, mines green, yellow sucks. lol.

the airbox mod is easy shmeesy, remove the rubber snorkel boot, done, and as the bike seemed rich the extra air has gotta help, have either of you guys smacked holes in the stock exhaust, if you remove the exhaust tailpiece, I'm thinkin of drilling some hoiles in that inner baffle then opening the tailpiece, again it's gotta help. What barkbusters did you install, the Acerbis ones I got don't really fit, maybe after I get my bar risers on they will, we'll see.

and yes you'll see me on the trails, and after wrastling round my klr, this klx feels like a kids toy, ye haw.

I bought Acerbis bars and the bark busters. I removed the snorkel and haven't done anything else to the carb or exhaust. Skidmark has an FMF pipe on his and I don't think it's overly loud. Paul (can't recall his name on here) has the full Yosh system on his bike. Louder than Skidmark's.

I put CFC case guards on mine. Ask Tomcycle what happens when the bike falls over on the shifter side. The shifter punches a hole into those soft magnesium cases. :hr:

Unabiker rad guards and rim locks, plus HD tubes. I also went 1 tooth down on the countershaft with the stock rear sprocket. Clarke tank too.
