07 WR450F - is it easy to plate it with new guidelines?

I am considering buying a used '07 WR450F in a private sale. With the new guidlines in force is it still possible to register by obtaining a NIVIS form or is this only for new bikes? If not how complicated and expensive is the process?

In my experience if you have an original copy NVIS that doesn't state "off-road motorcycle" and a bill of sale from the original owner you won't have a problem getting a plate. Some Insurance agents are harder to deal with than others, find one that knows what their doing.

best of luck.

does anyone have experience with the '07 WR and know what is on the NVIS. Also would the owner have received this form automatically? I have only previously purchased road legal bikes.

Read through this thread http://www.dualsportbc.com/forums/view_topic.php?id=5496&forum_id=32 . I'd suggest buying something witha frame label that says "Type MC". Talking with the local motor vehicle inspector about this the other day he said that once the new manual is in force they will be calling all plated "Type RUM" bikes in for an inspection and probably yanking the plates. Ouch!!"Type RUM are not plateable and should never have been plated"

Proceed with caution!
