Good Day
I was looking at a 08 Honda CRF 230L at my local dealer for my wife. What impressed me was the low seat height and weight of the bike. I am looking to see if anybody else has one and what their impressions are of the bike. Thanks for your help.

My son is 14 and has a crf230.

That bike goes everywhere and does it quite well.

Looks like a lot of chain slap on the pavement though.

We have no problems with it at all.

I have a CRF 230 that I mainly use for trail riding on my property (it's a great practice bike in between DS events). I find it easy to ride and it does everything. It's a light-weight, uncomplicated bike. If your wife is new todual sport / off-roadriding I think it would be a great bike forher to start with. For dual-sport events I ride a Suzuki DRZ 400.

Thisyear I tookmy CRF 230 to the Oregon sand dunes and to the Odessa Stumpjumpers Desert Classic and the bike was great. For all the other events I rode my DRZ 400.

I just bought a 230l for myself as it is my first bike. It does go pretty good but i have nothing to compare it too. It is all it can do to do 100k down the hwy. and the fuel tank is a bit small, yet can get about 180k on a tank. I'm glad i got it and and have no regrets so far but only have 400k on it. good luck.

Kinda the same...The wife's crf 150f with a home made bajakit on it.She was looking at the 230 but..she figured it would be to tall for her. This bike cruises along at 70 km.We only ride logging roads and trails,so this bike works great. If we do get pulled because of the "rum"designation..we will have to look at the crf 230l.
