Some good comments there Fixerdave. Not sure that I would want to spend upwards of $400 for a hydraulic clutch. I would like more feel to be fair, but I'll stick with the weight gain from a cable system. Progressive fork springs I do wish I had and maybe in the future. Stainless steel braided lines are the best improvement to the brakes by far and one that I think I will make. I have read enough reports to realise that there is a worthwhile gain here. The serrated footpegs I now feel are a must. Onmy last ride the stock pegs nearly caused me tofall, after my right foot slipped off the peg just as I was starting to climb a steep hill, of course the conditions were wet.In the dry I feel thatthey work fine. As for gearing it's probably all down to individual riding style and technique. I find that stock is adaquate 95% of the time.........All in all, some excellent mods.

Don't worry Fixerdave... it's only on there with Velcro. I was also concerned about those above mentioned hoodlums, so I wanted to be able to take it with me when I leave the bike.

I absolutely, 100% agree about the footpegs. Them stock jobbies are horrid when they're wet. Way too dangerous. I'll also be adding a rad/rez guard of some sort and a master brake guard. After that, the brake lines and progressive fronts sound like 2 great mods to make that pump up the safety a bit.

Thanks for your 2 bits dave & pirate......

pop off the carb, do the .22 cent mod, drill the slide and make sure your mix screw is at 2 1/4 turns out. Do the ''L'' mod to the air box, de-snorkle it then put it all back together and go for a rip. The smiles will come fast. When you get some spare coin, get a 2008+ header and a good fart can, I went with a IDS2 race core from Supertrapp and installed 20 discs in it, not the quietest but it just makes me grin from ear to ear...

Enjoy man, see you out there.
