2001 drz400 signal light as a replacement for broken signal on a 2009 drz400

I want to pick one up on ebay but it is a 2001 does anyone know if a stock 2001 rear signal is a straight swap for a 2009 drz400s. I suspect it will be a straight swap but thought I would check here first.

Just a tip, if you are ordering parts for the DRZ, the Kawasaki parts for the earlier model are about 30% cheaper and fit the same
