The fan on my KTM 530 2010 was staying on too long and coming on again after
shutting off, even though the engine wasn't running. After a little investigation I
discovered the thermo switch (Fan Temperature Switch) was damaged. I could wiggle the end connection and the
fan would shut off or come on depending on how hard I wiggled.
I looked up the part and checked with the dealer. Part number 78035045000 Thermo
Switch 95-100 DG would not be in until October. It's August now, so I decided to do
a little research to see if anyone else made this switch, heck I had time.
I found part number 36479 made by 4 Seasons
at Lordco and they would have it in by next day.
I picked the part up and other
than the fact that it is slightly longer overall the threads 14mm x 1.5mm are
exactly the same. The range of 95c off and 100c on is the same, so it looks good to
go.
I've now hooked it up and we'll test her out tomorrow.
