Anyone have any thoughts or any knowledge of these bikes, gonna pull the pin pretty quick on a new ride and I'm a bit curious to know what other guys have heard or experienced with these
ive had and loved an assortment of xrs a ktm 530exc and the drz 400
really like the drz ability to do everything fairly well but id like something a tad more trail cacapable narrowed it down to the ktm 350 or 500 or the husky 449

thanks for your input

The opinions I have received about my bike have generally be favourable towards the six speed transmission. First is quite low and sixth, well, it matches the wind resistance/horsepower ratio.

See what kind of tires fit. It might be you can only mount such and such type tire.

the ktm brand is hard to beat. selection,PARTS AVAILABILITY, dealers everywhere, DID I MENTION PARTS AVAILABILITY,and they make a size and model for everyone. i've owned a husky in the past, and now i'm on a ktm. NEVER going back in that direction. that is my 2 cents worth of opinion.

I have a 2011 TE 449, and it's an amazing bike. Parts availability in Canada is an issue right now as stated. With that being said, I ordered a front fender and rear brake from Motoxotica in the US, and they arrived within a week and a half. My TE shares the same oil filter as the BMW, so that's easy to get locally. I'm pretty sure the 2013 would share the same filter. The bike comes with two slip-ons in Canada. Make sure the seller has both. May sound like a small thing, but the Akrapovic pipe is decent and would save you dollars down the road.

I'd buy another TE without a second's hesitation personally. It's a lot of bike for what they sell for now, and I'm fine with planning ahead where possible and getting parts from the US. Note that no one knows the long-term parts availability and distribution network is going to look like, but Motoxotica wasn't even slightly concerned about getting parts while Husky sorted their distributors out.

I agree! The Beta does call to me though and if it is ever street-legal in Canada I might have to take a look at it.

As for the bikes at hand, I would vote for the KTM 500 if you do more open riding and the KTM 350 if you send your time on gnarly single track. Both will work in either location though.

That new beta sitting in the gnarly parts store is pretty damn nice
even with the street legal kit on it makes it tempting but you just know its gonna cause issues down the road and you'll be left with a dirt bike u can't ride on the street

good feedback people keep it ccomming
ive always said ill never own another ktm but they sure fit the bill if that motor will hold up

Beta is an incredible bike, and parts arent an issue, whether available locally, or via American Beta. My Beta 450RR (carburated) has more spunk than my (fuel injected) KTM 690 !

Exactly, which is why I wouldn't by a Beta yet. I'm not willing to risk having my plate pulled.

There is no local support for me, which isn't a huge deal and I have dealt with it before. However, it is so much easier to ride or push my KTM the 2 blocks to GP Moto or RTR Performance for parts or service if I need it.
