2025 Day Ride to the Salmon Glacier.

I live in Terrace BC. I'm looking for people interested in doing a day ride to the Salmon Glacier next spring. From Terrace its just over an hour to Kitwanga where you turn onto Highway 37 North. Google maps says its three hours thirteen minutes but the last 30 kilometres from Hyder to the glacier are gravel and depending on the condition of the road it could take longer.
There is also a more scenic route via highway 113. Then through the Cranberry Connector to highway 37. The Cranberry Connector is 60 Km of gravel.
I'm not on social media so contact me through this forum or the link on the bottom of the web page below.

Hey Bipolar, great trip idea!

I’ve been there a 3 times (last time was mid August 2023), once on a DL650 and then a DL1000 x 2.

I’ve ridden the Cranberry connection on those trips and you will be fine on the Wee.

Ya keep an eye on the snow melt as in 2022 we went in the middle of June on our way to Dawson City for the solstice and we had to ride through about 150m of snow to get to the first glacier viewing spot and the snow was too deep to go any further.

We’ll be checking it out again this June (around the 27th?) on our way back from a northern ride (was going to ride to Deadhorse AK but sticking to BC/YK instead while the tariff crap is going on).

We’ll ride into the lava fields to Greenville and then Terrace back to PG via Cranberry Junction as well.

Ps: it was intersting reading your web site where you say “Salmon Glacier, the only glacier you can drive to”.

There are many glaciers you can drive to in fact you’ll ride past the Bear Glacier on your way to Stewart and there are a few on the Ice Field Parkway you can ride/drive to as well.

Pps: you may get more action to your post by going to the FB page as this site seems not to be used as much since the FB page was put up.

Have a great trip and be safe!
