i don't believe the 390 is as of yet a transport canada street legal bike in b.c. but i'm pretty sure the 570 is street legal out of the box. be carefull what you buy for on road use in b.c, because the landscape has changed in the last year or so. there are a few threads on here dealing with the RUM bikes(restricted use motorcycles) that we have all been converting and slapping plates on them for years.get yourself up to speed, and then you only have yourself to chat with,as far as what bike you purchased for a dualsport in this province.

I have a 2010 FE390 that is dualsported. It was imported from the USA as a dualsport/street bike so I think I'm good. Regardless, it's on the road and awesome! I'm still a racer and like really technical bush riding so the 390 is sweet. If I had a second bike (GasGas EC250) then I'd probably go with the 450 or 570 as the 390 is a little underpowered on the road. So far I've added a Sicass dualsport kit, 70 degree racing subframe fuel tank (range is 170-200+km) and a few other off-road goodies. Checked the valves after 93 hours and almost 3000km and they were right in the middle of the spec. I just got back from a week long trip using the bike where I logged 1500km+ and the only issues were a flat tire and one of my wheel bearings is going south.

So yes, the berg makes a sweet dualsport bike. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I have a 2010 Canadian FE390 and it is street legal out of the box. Fabulous DS bike. The only improvement needed is the range of the standard tank. How did the subframe tank work out for you?
