85,000 + KM service

I'm well past 85,000 KM on my 640 Adventure and things are wearing out....

I regrease my linkage every year but this time I found that the shock to frame link bearings were shot...

New bearing in place with the link arms bolted on.... I was able to use the shaft to press the new bearings in...

The old shaft along with the shot bearings..

I also noticed my rear shock was weeping a bit of oil out the shaft so I managed to pick up a rebuilt shock for a fair price...

Old shock alongside the Racetech rebuild on the right...

The rest of the link bearings are still good n tight so a cleanup and fresh grease is all they need

I have gotten a fantastic 22,000 + km out of my last chain drive combo but it needs replacing....

Old sprocket shows wear when compared to the new...

Will be using the same brand combo for good now along with 80/90 for lube after this personal sprocket/chain longevity record.... Also pictured is a new set of Athena seals for the forks to go in with an oil change....

With the forks off I will repack the steering bearings and that should buy me another year {I hope}...

IMG_1671.jpg

Picked up another tub of the good stuff.... This should be enough for another 2 years of oil changes at less than half the price of bike shop oil....

And a fresh set of tires for spring should add the finishing touches.....

I am currently running on my 4th set of rear wheel bearings and the 3rd set up front and they are in good shape but spares are on hand just in case....

That's good, to be expected from a well engineered machine....

Has the motor been open in your 85k?

I rebuilt the engine and had the valves done at 40,000 KM.... I replaced the head on it along with the valves recently.....
