any experience with LiFePo (lithium) batteries?

The stock Yuasa in my 2011 TE310 has crapped out, when looking for a replacement I found a couple of Shorai (?) LiFePo batteries that on paper look far, far superior. 1/3 the weight, slightly smaller form factor, 2-3x the Ah rating, almost 2x the cold-crank rating, better cycle life, better storage life, what's not to like?

Basically I pay the same price as the Yuasa 6Ah and get a 9Ah LiFePo, or I can pay about 40% more and get a 14Ah LiFePo. Any reason not to make the switch?

Cheers

I'm running a LF 14 in my 640 and so far so good... It spins the starter motor with little effort even in the cold... I replaced a gel battery and saved about 5 LBS...

I picked mine up for $140 + $3.95 shipping from Parts Giant...

Not familiar with "Parts Giant", do you have a link? Google just comes up with some automotive parts places that don't seem to list any m/c batteries.

Thx

I Just got a 240 CCA 8 cell from www.antigravitybatteries.com .Really fast service and an exact physical replacement for the Yuasa but light as a feather. There is a thread on the Vendors forum at ADVRIDER about this supplier, all US components and asembly. Use the promo code "adventure" for $18.00 off. I've been too busy to try it in my 450 yet though......

I put a ballistic in my kLR for it's upcoming trip, it's silly light almost too light. (contrary to the bloated bike it's installed in) will let you know how it works in a couple of months.

I have a turntech that I got from Dave at Gnarly parts. I love mine. It is technically lower capacity than my stocker but it lasts way longer!
