Looking to buy a set of stock exhaust mufflers for a 950 adventure 2003-2005. If you have upgraded to something else, then you probably still have these kicking around and don't know what to do with them...

Well sell them to me!!! Hopefully for a case of beer or something. :))):

very much appreciated,

Hey Sasquatch:

Sound like you have a project bike here.

Are you going to take any pictures and post you progress ?

Some people really like to see what some people can do with the right knowledge and tools.

...or in my case: "some people like to laugh their asses off while some clown f*cks up his bike through ignorance and inexperience..."

Sure if you like I'll post pics of anything interesting I do. Got this bike second hand, so right now I am just doing the basics: oil, filter, air filter, sparks, clutch fluid, brake pads and fluid, new tires (the stock scorpions), fork oil and seals, dropping a tooth or two on the front sprocket, removing some useless crap like passenger pegs etc., gel seat, touring windscreen, debating 4 pot brembos x2 up front, trying to figure out how to do a fork brace on USD forks (?), louder horn, quieter exhaust, extra lighting? Then will take it to dealer for valve adjustment, carb synching, and throttle adjustment.

Did I miss anything?

Getting back to my original question: if anyone can recommend a lighter, cooler, QUIETER exhaust, please let me know. I am seriously looking at the fmf Q ti muffler specially designed for the 950... but am not sure. They're shorter and black, which is cool...

what pipes do you have on the bike now?

I am running Akra's and they are not much (if any) louder than stock.

Hey Sasquatch,

Tell us a little about this bike you bought.

950 Adventure?

Black? (they are a bit faster than the orange or grey ones...so I hear).

I would love to see some pictures. Or maybe even go for a ride when you come up to the okanagan.

I am interested in some of the modifications you want to do:tup: (Fork Brace) I have considered putting heavier springs in my forks, but I have never thought I needed a fork brace. I would like to see some pictures of your progress.

DUDE!!!

OK well this is the kind of info I need. See, I like quiet pipes. I dunno... maybe it's an old habit from my courier days... But I like quiet pipes and a REALLY loud horn. That whole "loud pipes save lives" harley sh*t makes me puke. Loud pipes are nothing but a PITA.

So, I like light, and I like cooler, I just don't want louder. There are a set made especially for the 950, made by fmf. I think they're from the Q (quiet) series... Ti with a spark arrestor. It's just that I learned they are stuffed with fiberglass packing, which "gets used up" over time, and will need repacking. The stock ones don't ever wear out... All I know is the ones I've got are too damn loud for me - the previous owner obviously drilled something out of the stockers...

I dunno, I thought I'd start with stock again, and then could experiment with new things until I find something I like.

Suggestions and information welcome...

check it out!

Don't think this model was ever available in Cananadanada. I think I just might be the only guy in western Canada with this beast. But I could be wrong...

Anyhow so to answer your question - it's grey and black - and they are definitely the fastest ones ever built. :D (we need more smileys - I need one that looks like a homicidal maniac)

(OK now this isn't actually my bike, but it's an exact replica - except mine is even faster)

So... regarding upgrades: you want heavier springs eh? well progressive suspension does make a good product - not sure if they make something for our bikes though... I'm still deciding. I thought maybe I could just put some heavier fork oil in there and see... need to check into our forks more - still haven't studied this yet... only had the bike in my hands since Wednesday. Haven't stopped smiling...

Yeah, the silver model was available in Canada, I had a choice between the silver 640 and the 950 in the dealer showroom, I went with the 640 because it was better suited to the type of riding I do. But I did take a spin on Frogs 950 and was very impressed with the machine, very smooth compared to the single.
