Best Placement for Heat Sensor 2002 RFS 520?

I'm looking for some temperature related feedback from ktm owners.

I am installing a Trailtech Vapor speedo that comes with a temperature gauge that you splice into one of the radiator hoses. My question is, which hose is my best bet to splice into. I would like it to be the hose that will give me the hottest temperature, so exiting the motor I would assume. Just not 100% certain which one that is on my 2002 exc 520. Also, is there any downsides to tapping into this hose? if not, which one is best?

Secondquestion; the computer can be set to indicate two temperature warnings....warning temp (yellow light) and better-pull-over-light (red). What are your thoughts on these ranges? The only info related to my question I found stated that a guy on a 580 hadhis lightand auto fan comingon at 185f and off at 175f. What is a good operating temperature range, and where are the danger levels at? I plan on installing a fan with manual switch, so would like to set the yellow light to indicate when to flip the fan on.

The computer can also indicate a 'redline' for RPM, what are your thoughts on this?

My research discovered a point about a stock 525 making max power at 7200 and dropping off at 9,000. Can I expect similar numbers for the '02 520? (pro circuit t-4 exhaust).

Thanks for the help .

I don't have a KTM but......

The hot water goes into the TOP of the rad, and cold/cooled water comes out of the bottom(on cars, trucks and every other motor I have seen. I think KTM's will be the same).

I would go with the "Auot temp Controled" fan. Having to turn the fan on/off manualy would be a pain in the arse after a while I think. Have it temp controled and it will come on every time it needs to , and u can concentrate on riding not on what your coolant temp is doing.

Hope this helps
