Hi all

im new here and this is my first post.

anyway I'm looking at buying a new bike And like a 350, 400 but not much bigger

i dont want a 650 or whatever. what you recomend Im kinda leaning towrds a Honda

xr400 but i dunno i dont want to get it and it's not really what i was lookin for. what u recomend? I'm going to use it mostly in dirt but it's gotta be ok on the road as well.

Also I'm not really sure if I'm goin to go new or used. Is the extra money worth it to go for a brand new 2005 as aposed to like 2001 or something.

thanx

well, welcome to the boards (like i'm the representative or something o_O).

I migh suggest a drz350s, its street legal, and has a big enough engine to actually go some where. And I believe it has a nice cushy seat, so its good for long rides. Its not at the top of power makers but it works. if you want power you might be stuck with getting an xr650, you could get one with just the bare bones, get youre self a baja kit (thats what they call it here in the states, might be something different there in BC, its just a head light , tail light, turnsignals and a pair of mirrors) I could buy a 650 here in Arizona with a head light and tail light and it is actually lighter than my dads drz400s. the only thing is it doesn't have an electric starte, not so fun if you have to start it more than once a week. but if its weight that worrys you about a 650, you might escape with that xr. but if you just plain old dont want a 650, get youre self a fairly new, used xr400, like, newer than 2000. If youre lucky, you might get one with a warrenty. but if you really want a warranty, just get it new.

well, just my words of wisdom (if you want to call it that).
