Hi there, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out. The stock dash on my DRZ400 quit on me, the back light still works, and everything runs fine. Just not the dash. I recently went with LED tails and rear signals, but I cant see that affecting it. If anyone can tell me where to start the troubleshooting process that would be very much appriciated.

First thing I would do is check fuses and then discconect the LED taillights and signals. Fuses are under the seat. I know that I had a connector go next to the stator that caused the dash to stop, soon after the whole bike stopped. So you might want to check all connectors are plugged in correctly. I've been taking them apart and putting them back together just to make sure they have contact. Contact cleaner and di-electric silicon can help with connectors.

Depending on how those lights are wired you may be drawing too much across the LED's. Not much but a starting point.

I do have a manual but no time to look at it till Sunday...got the Loose Screw to do.

check the silly little connector in behind your battery.........pull the battery out and you will see two little wires with a stupid connector in the middle.....it gets water in it and corrodes quickly. I cut it out and put a better quality butt connector in. My dash had stopped working, and a few other little quirks were fixed after doing this....good luck:hb:

When my dash went out, it turned out that the ground wire broke off inside the dash where it plugs in to the cuircuit board. If this is your problem I will tell you how I fixed mine. I'll have to get my manual out first to get the wiring diagram. Let me know.

I am going to pull my battery out and look for that cheapo connector. Thanks for the maintenance tip, Malachi.

Hi, my dash quit also, I started checking inside the dash---lo & behold a wire had broken off. The connector that clips on the stub coming out of the circuit board was still there, there was no easy way to get it off so I ended up going to an electronic car alarm place . The fellow there did his magic and $30.00 later I was on my way,fixed.:dr:.
