I thought Ide post a general thread about the DR350. I just got one and would like to know what others are doing with their 350s.
Ive got a pipe on order, thinking about a gearing change 45 teeth rr, and buying the factory oil cooler.

Cheers

I love my old 1990 DR350s. I installed a Clarke tank, bar risers and taller bars, wider pegs, Ram GPS mount, heavier Ebaich fork springs, I also have 14/51 gearing so I can ride the more techinical trails with ease. I even raced the old girl this year in Vernon. It was amazing how the bike can find traction almost anywhere. The oil cooler makes sense, I avoided the pipe because the stock one is so quiet and has decent performance.

I just put on a set of Zeta Bar risers 30mm, Just right for me now with a set of renthal XR bend bars. Im going to try a 46 or 47/ 15 combo over the stock 41.
Apparently the oil cooler is pretty pricey so Ill have to see. Im thinking of buying an ebay tail rack, the guy that rebuilds the stock tail piece into a rack for $100 bucks plus your old tail piece.

I bought a 99 DR350se a week before the Dead Zone event.
I rode in the Dead Zone and fell over a bunch, got lost a bunch but had a great time.
I'm a total off road rookie but have been riding for 35 of my 48 years.
I had a 2009 XT250 before the Suz and loved that little bike but had to sell it to pay some bills.
The DR is an awesome bike I don't mind the stock gearing and it even makes out ok on the highway. I rode it from New West up to Vernon for a weekend and the thing just hummed along.
Because I'm not a very talented off road rider and have a 28 inch inseam, the bike is going to loose 3-4 inches of travel which will make it about the same as the XT250. I'm also going to install a Britania Composits Fairing an Renazco seat and try to modern up the fenders with some Acerbis pieces and some LED tail lights and signals.
Should end up being an awesome fire road/mild trail bike

Am looking into purchasing a '96 DR350, did the KLR650 thing but want a smaller trail enduro ride (have the Wee Strom for the longer trips).

How often are the valves suppose to be adjusted? I did a search on google but could not find anything.

Thanks!
