I have a 2001 DR650 I'm 6' tall , the bars are too low to stand for a long time. What is the easiest way to raise them up??? new bars? riser blocks? how much extra do I have to play with in the cables, everything is stock!

thanks

Kurt I put on these"ARROW" tapered bars. I think they were kinda a knock-off of the bigger name brands. These ones were $130 includung the adaptors.

The adaptors fit in the original bar mount valleys and end up raiaing the bar 1 inch at that point. With the higher bend in the bars I think they end up being almost 3 inches higher.....and the bar end angles are way better. The stock bars are pointed down a little where as these new ones are level.

Any tapered bar will be better than the stock 'Butter-bars'

The wireing would not allow any higher of bars, it gets prety tight otherwise.

My bike is a 99, but everything should be the same as yours:hb:

You will have to bend the locator tab on the throttle side controls, it has never turned on me.

Here is another cheep mod u can do if you don't have the funds for a new pipe.

Remove this 3.5pound insert.

Yup.....cut, remove, re-weld. It's stanless, so use the right rod or it will rust. Yes it makes it a little louder...but the bike runs wayyy cooler. Install a larger outlet tube also.

I am not sure about the length of your cables but try Bar risers online dot com all one word. Canadian co and they look good you can go up 1 3/4" and forwrad 1 3/4" or just up 1 2/4".
