DR650 surging...

Yeah...I know it's still "under warranty", but I would really hate having to trailer-it all the way back to Langley for something simple.
In a nutshell: There is a miss somewhere in the 3500-4000 RPM range. In first gear between 35 and 40 km/h, there is a definite miss...nothing major, but I can tell she is hesitating. Same in 2nd gear between 55 and 65 km/h. Roughly speaking, it is in and around the "1/4 throttle" area.

It's as if she just runs out of fuel for a split second, then recovers, then starves....I'm thinking that, as a 2010, she might have been sitting on the showroom floor for too long and some of the secondary circuits in the carb might be a bit gummed up.
I've poured some SEAFOAM into the tank and ran her for a few minutes afterwards...I guess I'll see tomorrow.

Anything else I should look for? I've done the cursory checks of spark plugs, carb-boot, etc...She starts easily enough and idles well...no problem there.

Just to recap: 2010 DR650...84 original kms (aka NEW)...no mods...no tricks...no farkles...totally stock.

Lean from the factory. A JD or Dynojet kit will solve it or shim the needle and richen the idle mix a tad. Lots of info in the links I posted for you in the other thread you started. Piece of cake!

Took it back to the Dealer's today and the mech agreed that it is indeed the mixture.
As luck would have it, this is NOT covered by the warranty as Suzuki doesn't like it when you mess with their "emissions controls"...

Now, I'm without my new bike for a week! :(

It's usually the 1st owner that deals with the too lean for the real world issue. The jetting kits really help most of these stock bikes. The throttle roll on from off idle becomes amazing!

I hear you...and maybe in the next few months it will happen. But since it is "new and under warranty", I didn't want to do anything to jeopardize that.
And DAMN....it was such a nice day today. Luckily I still have the TW as backup!
