+1 for www.thumpertalk.com/forum/. Probably better to get the JD (James Dean) jet kit as it has everything you will need. Also need to specify which carb (FCR or BSR) you have on the bike to get the right kit.

170kms to reserve on the stock tank?!! Crazy!
I'm lucky to see 140 to reserve... and that's with a fair amount of highway thrown in.

i'm running the stock 15-44 gearing right now, but will be putting 14-47 on pretty quick,the stockers area bit tall for tooling around in the woods. my fuel ecomony will likely suffer as a result...not sure what the carb is jetted like, apparently it was rejetted for a bit of altitude by the first owner and my airbox has been slightly opened up,but nowhere near the 3X3 dimensions everyone seems to do. i have the stock pipe with the spark arrestor and restrictor thingy drilled out. the performance is pretty darn good except i think its a little lean on the pilot jet, surges a bit up to 1/4 throttle then cleans up. removed theside panel and that didn't improve the surge and hurt the midrange and top end. that induction sound is pretty cool though!!!

your odometer correction feature could be set to read lower than actual distance travelled. there is a way to check it, just look in your service or owner's manual and there will be the exact (and confusing)instructions to check and adjust it. BTW, my range from full to empty is 225km. according to the odometer, i actually haven't verified it with a known distance.

I'll look into that. I have seen those instructions before and thought my adjustments were at a neutral position, but I know when I go riding with my friends, the kms are way out. I'm for sure on the low side. I don't know at 250 kms to a tank, but maybe 160 before flipping to reserve maybe?

I dont have my drz anymore but a buddy and I ran up harrison west to mount currie
My bike "s" with dynojet kit, yosh full system, 3x3 mod, 14/47 gearing
His bike brand new bone stock "s" with stock 15/44
There was zero difference in the amount of fuel used over approx 200km. Nada!
