Anybody D/Sed a 300 two stroke before in BC , is it legal or close enuf, What is the best kit to use and where is the best place to order the kit, I have the paperwork I need so that is not a problem. Thanks!!!

Ive got an 01 300 exc with full Aussie setup, turn snigglers, speedo, Hi/Lo beam, and all the brake switches.
Best bet is to go to website ( check out 525 DS conversion on this website) and buy oem parts, then all parts are plug and play, you know everything works.
Munn Racing is helpful, Locally Vancouver supermoto will get your scooter totally regied, they can even do the work if you like.
I run 14/48 gearing for DS, and 12/48 for dirt, then all you need to do is change CS for dirt to road, run Michelin AC 10 tires, they work great for both dirt and limited pavement.

I just went through the process of registering a 'dirt only bike'; my 2002 520 exc is now fully legal. Do a search on this site as there some significant changes coming very soon, so better hurry. One thingI noticed is that your chances of things going smooth depend a lot on your insurance agent, some know what they are doing and make it easy, some know what they are doing and make it hard, some don't have a clue......which can be good or bad. Befriend one and bring them coffee.
On a side note, wopper, how do you find the 12 tooth CS? I've read about the potential for increase in chain wear and increase wear in the front chaine guide, with some reports of the chain wearing right through the guide into the swingarm. Have you had any issue with this?

no problem with the 12T front sprocket wearing anything prematurely. it has run this setup for 5000 k and no issues.
12 t sprockets wear fast, last one I had on went only one season, broke 2 teeth off, all the rest were cracked. ( sprocket specialists) I put on a differnt brand now. I will see how it survives.
