F650gs fluid changes - any place OTHER than the BMW dealer?

Hi all -- I'm just looking to get a new to me '04 f650gs and was wondering about the maintenance... BMW charges a ridiculous amount to do a full fluid change. Is there another place in the lower mainland I can get that done? What's a reasonable amount to spend on that?

I am a GSA pilot and complete all my own service on my BMW . I rent a proper motorcycle lift at a fully equipped motorcycle repair facility called MotoMethod. In addition the staff are quite knowledgeable.

You should have a BMW maintenance manual for your bike and this is easy to get on CD ROM.

I love the shop as there is a tire machine I use to handle the BMW tubeless tires and rims. At any rate I trust this helps.

Wow! That's awesome! And so close to my house!
Though as it stands I know very little about the bike. I've done a little work on air cooled vw's (nothing major, mostly electrical...) but am willing to learn!

If all goes well I'll have it for the weekend!

Good luck with your oil change

Its good to do some of the basic yourself, you might need that knowlege later when your off the beatten track

Not to detract from doing it yourself (best thing actually, I do my own) but if you are in Vancouver and looking for a good local shop for fluid changes / tires, Essential Motorcycles Services is on Marine just East of the Oak Street bridge.

FYI :)

+1 on the Motomethod shop. While I haven't been to the shop, I met Simon at the Orca Run last year. Great guy to ride with and helped me hobble my clutch cable-less DR650 out of the woods and back to civilization... If I lived in Vancouver, I'd definitely give this place my business. Great concept to be able to rent bench space and work alongside other people learning to fix their bikes (with some knowledgeable folks right around the corner!)

Good way to learn how to repair and maintain your machine... and meet some fellow riders!
