fadded KLR Red plastic, how does I perty it back up?

Hi Randaroo:
A friend has an old Honda, and I helped him clean it up one time. On the less severe patches we used Scotch-Brite pads to remove the layer of plastic that was faded. Then we buffed it with some silicone car wax to get back the shine. You have to use very clean pads and rags because the plastic picks up any dirt.
On the front fender, it was pretty white, and we buffed it too. It came out looking kinda "fuzzy" butwe useda cheap heat-gun from CT,to bring back the smoothness....it helped the colour too.It has to be real clean to do this....no wax....and youhave to be carefull not to burn it, or get it so hot it sags. Just melt the surface layer....something like this:

The product that worked wonders for me is: SC1 Clear Coat High Gloss from Maxima Racing Oils. I get it at SPUNKY'S in Parksville on the Island. It is easy to use and renewed my KLR after 2 winters in the Baja sun. As the can says "New bike in a can" your bike will look like it has new plastic. If you use it on the seat watch out it will be slippery.

SC1 - Great that is what I was hoping to hear,spray on wipe off, new bike. Now I need a potion to spray over myself, presto, twenty years younger!
I wonder if this penitrates and limits the ability to paint over in later life, I saw a very cool paint job in an old post that got me think'n. That started a debate with thevoices in my head, stock or kustom, plain or plaid. Gad the noise in here is clouding my judgement, better go to the office and make some life changing decisions for someone.
Aaaaanyway, thanks, any other suggestions out there? (Psychiatry?)

Get the stuff in the yellow can. Spray it on generously. Wait a minute, or two etc, and wipe it off. Back to stock color. Repeat every month or so. Cheap and easy/old fix for faded KLR plastic. You will be pleased with the result!
