We finally have our first production run of skid plates for F650/800 GS's...made in BC no less! It was worth the wait!

The first run of tool boxes to mount to the plate are ready as well.

The website will be updated shortly with more details etc., and we will also be talking to dealers about carrying the products.

Take a look at http://www.motooverland.com

We would also like to call out to current F650 GS & F800 GS owners with engine bars that would be willing to see if our plate will fit. It does fit with the Touratech bars.

Thanks, Dave

...see you on the trails!

Hey looks good guys.

Not crazy about the MOD on the side but I'm interested in one, what's the price? Post here or PM me - thanks.

I don't think the MOD stands out as much in real life as it does in flash photos.

It's one of the most comprehensive plates out there for the BMW F8GSs. 4mm thick 5052 aluminum. Tall enough in the front to protect the oil filter and cooler. Tall on the sides to protect the engine case. On the bottom it has CNC machined mounts so there is no hardware sticking out the bottom, and is long to protect right back to the catalytic. The front engine mount is aluminum with Pem nuts built in, and all the hardware is all stainless.

The prices are $244.95 for the raw silver, and $259.95 for the powder coat black.

Here is a pic from the left, and I have others...

What do you think?

Here is a pic from the side with the tool box installed on the plate as requested by Dave.

It's a little hard to tell from the pic, but it mounts just above the cooling slots.

Thanks, and see you on the trails.

Thanks for the pic. Gives a guy a good idea of clearance, both ways.

That's the second toolbox I've seen mounted directly infront of the headers. It makes me wonder about radiant heat. I carry co2 cartirdges, tire repair kits in plastic containers and other such meltable/flammables in my kit and I wouldn't feel right about having it so close to the hottest part of the exhaust system.

An interesting thought. However in our case the skid plate is about 20mm away from the headers. The plate does get the least bit hot. As well the tool box mounts on stainless/rubber washers to keep water out and isolate it from the plate. This 2mm gap would also keep it cooler, if it were an issue. The cooling slots on the front of the plate are also not obstructed by the tool box.

I would have no problem putting Co2 cartridges or anything else in there.

Another pic from the other side...

It is always good to get feedback! Thanks.

Dave

Hey Kelly,

Thanks for the compliment! :)

We are based out of Vancouver.
Sorry we don't have anything for the 04 650 GS. Though I know the "new" G650 GS is the same so I have looked at that but unfortunately there won't be anything in the near future.
