Gas leak TE 610

Not sure if this is a Husky question or just dirtbikes in general, but I thought I'd throw it out there...

I have an 08 TE 610 and yesterday I took it out and discovered gas was leaking onto the front exhaust pipe under the handle bars. It's a very slow but consistant drip coming from a rubber vent hose right above.

Haven't had a chance to pull it apart yet. Anyone have any experience with this?

The bike does have a leaky gas cap. Even after the repair. I heard that was a Husky issue.

Thanks

My 2008 TE 610 started leaking from the gas cap when the Bike was parked. I ended up removing the valve from the gas tank vent hose and that stopped it.

Well it did only leak when I filled the tank - out of the gas cap. I find gas has saturated the plastic around it. But this is a constant drip out of the gas tank valve hose that ends right above the exhaust pipe.

North - removing that valve is ok then?
Thanks

Wow that's a scary leak! No issues with my bike leaking gas. Maybe your breather hose is plugged and that's the only way the tank can breathe.

I took off my value and it stopped the leaking.

Thanks Pope. These bikes are a little more technical than my old XRL. (hose sticking out of the gas cap)

Been doing a search on ThumperTalk for similar.

The only time you need that valve is for inspection or if you park it upside down.

Thanks Ti welder. One more dumb question... There are 2 hoses running off the the tank. One is the longer one that drains over the exhaust headers (comes out the the left side). The other is on the right hand side (throttle side). It is shorter and has an inline filter in it. The end of the hose is open and stuck behind the rad. What's the diff between them?
Thanks!

My 08 610 is still in the shop, so I can't look. But it had the smog can taken off and it only had the vent hose from the gas cap.
